Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of therapy designed to address and treat conditions related to the pelvic floor muscles, which support the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. This therapy helps individuals experiencing issues such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and postpartum recovery. Through targeted exercises, manual therapy, and education, pelvic floor physical therapy strengthens and relaxes the muscles, improving function and quality of life. Whether you’re dealing with discomfort, weakness, or dysfunction, pelvic floor therapy offers a personalized approach to restore balance and promote better pelvic health.

What Conditions Can Be Seen By A Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist?

What to Expect at Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

At your first pelvic floor physical therapy visit, our priority is making you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. We begin with a thorough conversation about your medical history, symptoms, and goals. From there, your therapist may perform a movement assessment and, with your consent, an external and/or internal pelvic floor exam to better understand how your muscles are functioning.

Treatment is always tailored to you and may include gentle manual techniques, relaxation or strengthening exercises, posture and breathing training, and education to help you better understand your body. Our goal is to help you feel more in control, reduce your symptoms, and get you back to doing what you love—without pain or worry.
